  •     Oswego County Real Estate For Sale

The Oswego County government delivers many services that help provide a high quality of life. Our rich history, vibrant towns and villages, and lovely landscape offer something for everyone – historic sites and museums, fruit orchards and alpaca farms, racetracks, sunny beaches, unique shopping and antiquing, outdoor concerts and spectacular scenery!

Oswego County is easily easily accessible by land, air and water. Interstate 81 and I-481 travel through the county, and it's just north of I-90, the NYS Thruway. The County Airport sees more than 25,000 take-offs and landings a year. The 23-mile Oswego River Canal is part of the NYS Canal System and the historic Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. The Oswego River remains a vital link in the New York State Barge Canal System and the waterway provides numerous recreational opportunities for boating, fishing, birding, canoeing and kayaking. Parks, marinas and boat launches provide plenty of public access in our historic canal side communities. The Salmon River is an angler’s mecca. Thousands of trophy Chinook and coho salmon, steelhead, rainbows and brown trout, driven by the urge to spawn, run its length each year. Twelve miles of classic riffs, pools and runs are accessible to those who would test its waters with rod and reel.

Hikers, mountain bikers, birders, and nature enthusiasts love Oswego County. Miles and miles of marked and unmarked woodland trails criss-cross several state forests, wildlife management areas, parks and environmental centers. From spring until fall, you can tee off at one of Oswego County’s public golf courses. It doesn’t matter if you are a “duffer” or a pro. Oswego County’s golf links vary — from easy par three courses to those with “monster” par fives. There are nine 18 hole and three nine hole golf courses spread across the county.

Oswego County’s rolling terrain and abundant snowfall offer outstanding skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing opportunities. The warm waters of Lake Ontario combine with cold air masses from Canada to form lake effect snowfall — a giant snow-making machine. From the novice to the expert, thousands of skiers are challenged by over 150 miles of trails. Some areas feature groomed trails, or skiers can blaze their own trails in rural public areas such as parks and forests. Many of the recreation areas listed for cross-country skiing are also suitable for snowshoeing.

Oswego County is comprised of the cities of Oswego and Fulton; the 10 villages of Altimar, Central Square, Cleveland, Hannibal, Lacona, Mexico, Parish, Phoenix, Pulaski and Sandy Creek; and the 22 towns of Albion, Amboy, Bolyston, Constantia, Granby, Hannibal, Hastings, Mexico, Minetto, New Haven, Orwell, Oswego, Palermo, Parish, Redfield, Richland, Sandy Creek, Schroeppel, Scriba, Volney, West Monroe and Williamstown.
